Lots of couples make a trip to the jewelry store before their wedding.

Two Yuba City residents are going there for their wedding.

Ethan Wooten and Dawn Mirabueno will recite their vows Friday morning at Harry Ritchie´s Jewelers in Yuba City, according to store manager Danyelle Grossman.

As she tells it, Wooten and her staff grew close last year. He was grieving the death of his son, then met Mirabueno and stopped in often to buy her "shiny things."

"When they decided to get married, he jokingly said they should get married here because they spend so much time here," Grossman says.

"I said, ´Ha, ha, that´s funny.´ It turned out he wasn´t kidding."

The store has gone all out to make it special. Grossman got ordained online so she could preside at the event.

Nine local businesses are providing free services, including gown and tux, cake and a honeymoon suite.

Why such generosity?

For one thing, the wedding will be shown live on "Good Day Sacramento."

Says Grossman of the businesses: "They wanted to help a couple that´s had some hard times. But I don´t think they mind the publicity either."
